How to give friends access to manage your server
Open Members on your berrybyte server to invite someone by email or username. Choose Administrator, Super Administrator, or Custom permissions, then edit, disable, or remove their access whenever you need.
To let a friend help manage your berrybyte server, open Members → Add Member, enter their email or berrybyte username, and choose a role. They use their own login to manage the server with the permissions you give them.
Friends who only want to play do not need this access. Share the game address or join code with them instead.
Invite a member
Open the right server
Sign into the dashboard, select the server, and open Members. You need permission to invite members; the server owner can do this.
Enter their account details
Press Add Member. Enter their berrybyte account email or username in Email or username. Use an email address if they do not have an account yet. Their in-game name is not their berrybyte username unless they chose the same one.
Choose what they can do
Select Administrator, Super Administrator, or Custom. For Custom, select the individual permissions they need. Review the role before sending the invitation.
Send the invitation
Press Invite. Ask your friend to open the invitation email and follow it to the server. New users receive instructions to set up a password first.
Check that they have access
Your friend signs in and accepts the server invitation. The member changes from pending to active. Have them open the page they will use, such as Files or Backups, to check that their permissions cover the task.
Choose a role

| Custom | Only the permissions you select. Useful when someone needs to do a specific task. |
For example, someone who only needs to restart the server does not need to edit files or manage other members. Choose Custom and select the relevant view and power permissions.
You cannot grant permissions beyond your own. If you cannot select a role or save a permission change, ask the server owner to make the change.
Change or remove access
Open Members and use the edit action beside the person you want to change.
- Change permissions: choose a different role or adjust Custom permissions, then press Save.
- Pause access: turn on Disable member and save. Turn it off later to restore access.
- Remove access: choose Remove member, then confirm with Remove. Invite them again if they need access later.
Removing dashboard access does not undo file changes the person already made. If you need to recover older files, use a backup.
Dashboard access and in-game admin are separate
A member can have permission to restart the server without being an admin in the game. A player can also be an in-game admin without having a dashboard login.
For game permissions, follow your game's guide, such as Minecraft operators and whitelists or Valheim admin commands.
If your friend cannot see the server
Check the email address used for the invitation and the account they signed into. This is easy to mix up when someone uses Google or Discord to sign in. Then check whether the member is still pending or has been disabled.
If the server opens but a page or action is unavailable, review their permissions. Avoid sharing your own password to get around an access issue; update their member role instead.

Does adding a server member make them an admin in the game?
No. Members controls access to the berrybyte dashboard. In-game admin rights, operator status, and whitelists are managed separately through your game's commands or settings.
Can I invite someone who does not have a berrybyte account?
Yes. Enter their email address. They receive an invitation with instructions to set up their password. If they already have an account, use its email address or berrybyte username.
Why is my server invitation still pending?
The person has not accepted it yet. Ask them to check the invitation email, sign into the matching berrybyte account, and open the invited server to accept access.
Can a member access all my servers?
No. Membership is granted separately for each server. Invite the person to each server they need to manage.
Does removing a member ban them from the game?
No. Removing a member revokes their dashboard access to that server. Use the game's ban or whitelist controls if you also want to stop them from joining as a player.
