How much RAM does my modpack need?

Most packs want 8 GB to start. Heavy kitchen-sink packs like ATM10 run better with 12 GB once several players explore at once. Search results show a recommended amount for each pack, or check the Modpack RAM Requirements tool.

Do my friends need the same modpack installed?

Yes. Everyone joins with the same pack and version installed in a launcher such as the Modrinth App, CurseForge app, or FTB App. A vanilla or mismatched client cannot join.

Do I need to install Forge or Fabric myself?

No. Choosing the pack sets the Minecraft version and loader for you. There is nothing to type into startup settings and no manual reinstall.

Can I switch to a different modpack later?

Yes. Open Overview → Modpack → Change in your dashboard. Create a backup first: switching packs resets game files and can replace the world unless you restore it afterwards.

What if my pack isn’t listed?

Paste its Modrinth, CurseForge, or FTB link into the search above. For a private or custom zip, pick the matching loader and Minecraft version, then upload the server files through Files after a backup.

Why does the first start take a while?

Large packs spend several minutes downloading mods and booting the first time. Watch the console and wait until startup finishes before anyone joins.
