How to secure and recover your berrybyte account
Use Account → Authentication to change your berrybyte password, enable two-factor authentication, and manage backup codes. Reset a forgotten password by email or contact support if you cannot recover access.
Open Account → Authentication to change your berrybyte password and set up two-factor authentication, also called 2FA. Save the backup codes during setup so you can still sign in if you lose access to your authenticator.
If you cannot sign in now, go to Reset a forgotten password or Recover access without your authenticator.
Change your password
- Sign into the dashboard and open Account → Authentication.
- Press Change Password.
- Enter your current password, a new password, and the new password again to confirm it.
- Press Change Password and wait for confirmation.
Choose a password you do not use for another account. A password manager can help you create and store it.
If you signed up with Google or Discord
Sign in using the provider you normally use. If the password section shows Setup Password, you have not set a berrybyte password yet.
Press Setup Password → Send Reset Email, then open the link sent to the email shown in the dialog. Follow it to set your password. Return to Authentication afterward if you want to enable 2FA.
Reset a forgotten password
Open the reset page
Choose Forgot password? when signing in, or open the password-reset request page.
Enter your account email
Use the email attached to your berrybyte account, then press Send reset link. Complete the verification check if one appears.
Follow the email link
Check your inbox and spam folder. Open the reset link and set a new password. If the link has expired or no longer works, request a new one.
Sign in again
Use your new password. If two-factor authentication is enabled, you still need your authenticator code or an unused backup code.
If no email arrives, check which email you used when creating the account. Signing in with Google or Discord may help you get back to the account and check its email address.
Enable two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication adds a code from your authenticator app to the sign-in process.
Start setup
Open Account → Authentication → Setup 2FA. If asked to set a password first, complete Setup Password, then return here.
Confirm your password
Enter your berrybyte password and continue. Use your berrybyte password here, not your Google or Discord password.
Add the account to your authenticator
Scan the displayed QR code with your authenticator app. If you cannot scan it, use the manual setup key shown in the dialog.
Verify the code
Enter the six-digit code from the app and press Verify to finish verification.
Save your backup codes
Copy or download the codes from Save Backup Codes and store them somewhere secure that you can access without this dashboard session. Finish the setup dialog.
Keep backup codes private. Each one can be used to sign in without your authenticator and works only once. Do not send codes, passwords, or the setup QR code in a support ticket.
Recover access without your authenticator
At the two-factor sign-in screen, switch to the backup-code option and enter one unused code from the set you saved during setup.
Once you are signed in, open Account → Authentication → Manage 2FA. If you need to replace your authenticator, disable 2FA using your password, then set it up again with the new app and store the new backup codes.
If you still have your authenticator but need fresh backup codes, choose Regenerate Backup Codes in Manage 2FA. Enter your password and save the new set. All previous backup codes stop working.
If you have neither your authenticator nor a usable backup code, email support@berrybyte.net, preferably from the email attached to the account. Explain what you have lost access to. Support will need to verify ownership before helping with recovery.
Sign out on every device
Under Account → Authentication → Sessions, press Log Out All Sessions and confirm. This also signs you out of the device you are using.
Use this after using a shared computer or if you think someone else has access. If your password may have been exposed, change it as well. Check the security of any Google or Discord account you use to sign in.

I signed up with Google or Discord. Do I have a berrybyte password?
You may not have set one. Sign in with the provider you normally use, then open Account → Authentication. If the page shows Setup Password, use it to send a password-setup link to your account email.
Why do I need a password before setting up two-factor authentication?
berrybyte asks for your account password when enabling two-factor authentication. If you use Google or Discord and have not set a password, complete Setup Password first, then return to Setup 2FA.
Can I use a backup code more than once?
No. Each backup code works once. You can generate a new set under Account → Authentication → Manage 2FA, but doing so invalidates the old set.
Does resetting my password remove two-factor authentication?
No. A password reset changes your password; it does not replace your authenticator or backup codes. If you have lost both, contact support for help recovering access.
Why have I not received a password-reset email?
Check spam and make sure you entered the email attached to your berrybyte account. The reset page shows the same confirmation whether or not an account exists, so that message alone does not confirm the email is registered.
Will Log Out All Sessions also sign me out?
Yes. It signs out every device, including the one you are using. Make sure you have your password or sign-in provider and any required two-factor code before confirming.
