TL;DR: Keen released Enshrouded Patch #1 (1.0.1.0) on November 2, 2026. Update your server so it matches your players' game. If your Early Access world failed to convert to 1.0, this patch is your cue to try again from a backup.
Do you need to do anything? Yes. Players who update can't join a server that's still on the old build. Stop the server, back it up, then let it update before anyone joins.

What's new in the November 2026 patch
Keen's Patch #1 changelog runs to five pages. These are the parts that matter most for groups and server owners:
- Save migration. Under its PC-specific changes, Keen fixed "several cases that could cause a save data migration to trigger an error." Saves with lots of player bases also get more memory while they convert.
- Multiplayer. Keen says the patch "improved stability in multiplayer when hosting a world with very large player bases."
- Bosses. Bosses stay in the fight longer, so they're less likely to start healing while you shoot them from range. The Dragon Youngling no longer gets stuck in a half-dead state.
- Wands and combat. The Aerial Wand Attack now costs 40 mana instead of stamina. A blocking trick that sped up wand attacks no longer works.
- Loot and XP. Fewer Fell enemies drop nothing, and elite flying critters give more XP.
- Building and Sparkworks. Sparkworks props can't be broken by attacks, but you can still dismantle them. Water wheels turn properly again.
- Quality of life. Sprint can be set to toggle on keyboard and mouse.
Does the patch break anything?
Not your world, but it does split versions. Every player and the server must run the same build. If the server is behind, players see a "Version Mismatch" message when they try to join.

Steam shows a new public build of the dedicated server tool (app 2278520) on November 2, just before Keen's post. So update the server, not just your game.
If your world didn't convert to 1.0
Keen's notes say: "If a save file caused migration issues before, please try the migration again with this update." Keen files that fix under PC changes and doesn't say whether the dedicated server build gets it too.
It's worth a try, as long as you kept the Early Access backup from before your first 1.0 start:
- Stop the server.
- Restore the Early Access backup.
- Update the server to the latest build and start it.
- Watch Console until
HostOnlineappears, then check a familiar base.
The conversion is still one-way, and the skill tree still resets for every player. If it fails again, keep the Console log and ask our support team before you replace anything. The world migration guide shows which save files belong together.
How to update your server
On berrybyte:
- Back up. Stop the server and create a backup.
- Turn on Auto Update. Open Settings → Game Settings and enable Auto Update.
- Start. Press Start and wait for
HostOnlinein Console. - Test. Have one updated player join first, then invite everyone.

Self-hosting? Run SteamCMD with app_update 2278520 on your install folder. The Enshrouded update guide has the full steps.
Can you roll back?
Only from a backup. Once a world has loaded on 1.0, it can't go back to the Early Access format. Take a backup before every update.
Keep your Enshrouded world online
A dedicated server keeps Embervale running when the host logs off, and berrybyte servers pick up patches like this one with the Auto Update toggle. PC and PS5 servers are separate, so pick the platform your group plays on. Back from 1.0 launch week? Our Enshrouded 1.0 post covers the bigger changes.
