Dragonwilds server admin and player management
Claim Dragonwilds owner access, sign in with the Admin Password, kick or ban players, restore access as the owner, and rotate moderator credentials safely.
Dragonwilds divides dedicated-server access into owner, admin, and
regular player roles. OwnerId assigns the owner. Trusted moderators sign in
with AdminPassword through the in-game Server Management screen.
Jagex documents this model in its dedicated-server guide. The guide also defines which moderation actions each role can perform.
Set the owner
The owner receives the broadest player-management access. Copy My Player
ID from the bottom of Dragonwilds Settings and place it in OwnerId.
On berrybyte:
Copy the Player ID
Launch Dragonwilds, open Settings, and use the copy control beside My Player ID.
Open Game Settings
Select the server in the berrybyte dashboard, then open Settings → Game Settings.
Save Owner ID
Paste the complete value into Owner ID. Save the page and restart the server.
Verify owner access
Join the world with that Dragonwilds account. Open Pause → Settings → Server Management and confirm that owner actions are available.
The current Jagex setup guide still requires OwnerId. An
April server update
mentioned optional Owner ID and first-join claiming. Keep the field populated
while the live how-to still requires it.
Give a moderator admin access
AdminPassword is a shared moderation credential. Anybody who knows it can
enter Server Management and become an admin.
Create a separate admin password
Use a password that differs from WorldPassword. Store it in a password manager.
Save it while the server is stopped
On berrybyte, set Admin Password under Settings → Game Settings. A self-host can edit
AdminPassword in DedicatedServer.ini.
Restart the world
Start the server and wait for the session to load.
Sign in from the game
The moderator joins, opens Pause → Settings → Server Management, and enters the Admin Password.
The settings guide
contains the current file paths and safe editing process. Changes made to
DedicatedServer.ini while the process runs can be discarded, so stop before
editing it directly.
Share WorldPassword with players who need to join. Keep AdminPassword in a private
moderator channel. The admin credential grants moderation access.
Use the correct moderation role
Jagex's current permissions are:

Select the player from Server Management and choose the action shown for your role. A kick removes the current session. A ban blocks future entry until the owner removes it.
Jagex exposes these actions through the game interface. Its current dedicated-server guide does not publish text console commands for player moderation.
Review admins and rotate access
The server records accounts that used the Admin Password in
DedicatedServer.ini. Jagex points self-hosters to the generated config file
to inspect that history.
On berrybyte, protect the file with a backup before changing identity or moderation data. Then rotate access:
Stop the server
Use the normal Stop control and wait for the offline state.
Change Admin Password
Save a new secret under Settings → Game Settings. Self-hosters can update the same key
in DedicatedServer.ini.
Start and test
Join as the owner first. Confirm Server Management opens, then give the new password to the moderators who still need access.
Changing the password ends the previous admin grant according to Jagex's documented model. It is the recovery path after a credential leak or a moderator departure.
Recover from an owner or password problem
When Server Management remains unavailable:
- Compare the joined account's Player ID with
OwnerId. - Check the server log for a configuration error.
- Confirm the admin entered the current credential.
- Restart after saving the config.
- Follow the connection guide when the account cannot reach the world.
