Getting started with your berrybyte server
Create a berrybyte game server, wait for setup, then start it from My Servers and share its connection details with friends. Manage files, backups, members, and billing from the dashboard.
To get your berrybyte server online, choose a game and plan, finish checkout, then open My Servers in the dashboard. Once setup finishes, start the server and share its connection details with your friends.

Create your server
Choose a game
Open berrybyte.net and choose the game you want to host. Select the server type or modpack if the game offers a choice. Use the same edition and compatible mods as the people who will be joining.
Pick a location and plan
Choose the region closest to most of your players. Depending on the game, plans are sized by RAM or player slots. Start with the recommended plan if you are unsure; you can change it later from billing.
Sign in and check out
Continue with Google, Discord, or email. If asked, verify your email address. Choose a billing cycle and review the total before paying. The checkout shows the payment methods available to you and how much you will pay for the whole period.
Wait for setup to finish
Checkout sends you to the dashboard. My Servers shows Setting up while the files download and install. The server opens automatically when it is ready.
If setup has not progressed after 10 minutes, use View support ticket if one is linked, or open Support → Open a Ticket and choose Server Issue. Include the affected server so we can check its setup. See Getting support.
Start and join your server
Open your server
Select it from My Servers. Overview shows its status and connection details.
Check the game settings
Open Settings → Game Settings and review the options available for your game, such as the server name, password, or world. Save any changes. For an existing world, follow your game's upload guide before starting a new one.
Start the server
Press Start if it is offline. Wait for the game to finish loading; a server that is still starting may not accept players yet. The console shows its progress.
Copy the connection details
Use the address or join code shown on Overview, then follow How to join. Some games use an address and port; others use a join code. Share those details and the game password with your friends.

Friends only need the game's connection details to play. If someone will help with files, backups, or restarts, add them as a member so they can use their own dashboard login.

Before adding mods, replacing a world, or making a large change, create a backup. It gives you a way back if the change does not work out.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to leave my computer on to keep my server running?
No. berrybyte runs the server for you. Your friends can keep playing when you close the dashboard or turn off your computer, as long as the server is running and the subscription is active.
How long does a new server take to set up?
Most servers finish within a few minutes, though larger downloads can take longer. If Setting up has not progressed after 10 minutes, open a support ticket or use View support ticket if one is already linked.
Do my friends need a berrybyte account to play?
No. They join through the game using the server address or join code and any required password. A berrybyte account is only needed if you want them to help manage the server in the dashboard.
Can I change my server plan later?
Yes. Open Account → Billing → Plans, choose Manage on the subscription, then Change plan. The confirmation shows the cost and when the change applies. Stop the server before downgrading.
Does stopping my server pause billing?
No. Stopping only turns off the game server. The subscription continues until you cancel it through Account → Billing.
