List a Hytale server on Server Discovery
List a Hytale server from Account Manager → Server Profiles. Create an accurate listing, wait for Accepted, then paste the link command from the card so the server can heartbeat. Offline over two minutes hides the listing. Private servers can skip Discovery and use Direct Connect.
Server Discovery is Hypixel's official in-game list of community Hytale servers. Players browse name, description, type, audience, and region, then open a profile before they join. It is not the same as authenticating the dedicated server, and it is not required for Direct Connect.
Update 5 shipped the in-game browser. The operator flow lives in Account Manager → Server Profiles, as described in the official server lists notes. Update 6 adds clearer linking errors and custom listing images. If something still looks like Update 5, check Patchline.
A listed server still has to pass every other join check. A whitelist or a password does not turn off when the listing goes public.
Check the patchline before you link
On berrybyte, Game Settings shows Patchline (HYTALE_PATCHLINE,
release or pre-release) and Auto Update. Use that, plus Console,
to know which linking behavior you have.
- Update 5: copy the link command from the accepted listing card and run it in Console or in chat as an OP. The official lists article describes that command without publishing a fixed signature.
- Update 6+: the same flow applies. Official notes name
/discovery linkand say it now reports why a link failed. The token is only linked when the heartbeat actually succeeds.
Do not invent a config key or a second discovery port. Paste the command Account Manager shows for this listing. On Update 6+, a clearer error is a patchline feature, not proof that a different command exists.
Create the listing
Open Server Profiles
Sign in to the Hytale Account Manager and open Server Profiles. This is Hypixel's site, not the berrybyte dashboard.
Create the server card
Choose Create server. Write an accurate name and description. Set type (Survival, Adventure/RPG, Creative, PvP, Minigames, Roleplay, Social, Sandbox, or Other), audience (Everyone, Teen, or Mature), and the regions you actually serve.
Verify the domain if you want that signal
Optional TXT verification proves you control the host on the card. Listings stuck in Pending verification for more than 30 days are removed. You can list by IP and skip verification; you just will not get the verification mark.
Wait for moderation
The card moves through review. Typical statuses are Pending verification, Under review, Accepted, Denied, and Paused. An accepted listing is eligible for the in-game browser. Denied cards include a reason; fix the listing against the Server Operator Policies and resubmit.

The game server still needs device login so it can talk to Hytale

Discovery does not replace /auth login device.
Link the listing when the token is available
After Accepted, the listing card shows the discovery token and the link command. Copy that command exactly. On berrybyte, paste it into Console on the running server.
On Update 6+, official notes document /discovery link and these
distinct failures: the token matches no listing, the server is signed
in as a different game profile than the listing, or the discovery
service is unreachable. The token is linked only after a successful
heartbeat.
Keep the server online
The server pings the discovery service about every two minutes with that token. If heartbeats stop for more than two minutes, the listing is hidden until the server is back. You do not have to unlist it by hand.
Treat the discovery token as a secret. It authenticates the heartbeat and reports version and patchline. Do not put it in a public ticket, screenshot, or player chat. If Account Manager offers regenerate on the card, use that control after a leak, then run the new link command.
Initial-version limits
The official lists article is explicit about V1. Do not promise features the live list does not have.
- Listings are name, description, and tags. Update 5 has no custom icons, banners, or other rich media.
- No live player count or ratings in that first version.
- One listing per game profile. A second public server needs its own game profile.
- Update 6 notes add custom server images. If an image is missing or not approved, the default image is shown. Older builds without Update 6 stay on name, description, and tags only.
- Update 5 notes that the in-game Discovery UI is not available on parent-managed player accounts. That is a client restriction, not a second operator listing form.
Policy obligations
Baseline Server Operator Policies apply to every host. Listed Servers (anything in Discovery) take on extra duties: accurate operator contact, moderation coverage with a 24-hour response target for urgent safety reports where reasonably practicable, required public disclosures, a content baseline, accurate self-rating, and basic technical hygiene (supported versions, crash rate, patching).
Violations can mean a warning, delisting, token or key suspension, or account-level action. Read the policy text before you submit. This page is not a substitute for it.
Private servers do not need Discovery
If the world is for a known group, skip the public list. Share the address and use Direct Connect, as in Join your Hytale server. You still set the server up and authenticate it. Discovery is only the official catalogue.
