Set up an Xbox dedicated server for Palworld
Palworld 1.0 uses CrossplayPlatforms in PalWorldSettings.ini. Crossplay (Steam, Xbox, PS5, Mac) is the berrybyte default, and -publiclobby is already on, so Xbox players can search the community server list.
Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and Microsoft Store Windows players
join Palworld through Community Servers, not by IP. Palworld 1.0 no longer
uses AllowConnectPlatform. The current key is CrossplayPlatforms inside
PalWorldSettings.ini.
On berrybyte, Allowed platforms defaults to Crossplay
(Steam,Xbox,PS5,Mac) and every Palworld server already starts with
-publiclobby. Most servers are Xbox-ready. Give the server a unique name,
restart if you just changed the setting, then have friends search that name.
Confirm Xbox is allowed
Open Settings → Game Settings
Open your server in the dashboard and go to Settings → Game Settings.
Check Allowed platforms
Set Allowed platforms to Crossplay if you want Steam, Xbox, PS5, and Mac on the same world. Xbox restricts the server to Xbox only.
Set a unique server name
Xbox players search Community Servers by name. Use something distinct so they can find
yours. The same name is ServerName in PalWorldSettings.ini.
Restart the server
Save, then restart from Overview so Palworld reloads the setting.
Edit PalWorldSettings.ini by hand
Use this on a self-hosted server, or if you prefer Files over Game Settings.
Stop the server
Stop it from Overview before editing the config. Palworld overwrites
PalWorldSettings.ini on shutdown if you edit it while it's running.
Open PalWorldSettings.ini
In Files, open Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini. On Windows
self-hosts the same file is Pal/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/PalWorldSettings.ini.
Set CrossplayPlatforms
Find CrossplayPlatforms inside the OptionSettings=(...) line and include Xbox.
CrossplayPlatforms=(Steam,Xbox,PS5,Mac)Older configs used AllowConnectPlatform=Xbox. That key is gone. Use CrossplayPlatforms.
Save and start the server
Save the file and start the server from Overview.

Xbox players still cannot join by IP. They search Community Servers for the server name.
That list only includes servers started with -publiclobby. berrybyte adds that argument on
every Palworld server.
Self-hosting? Add -publiclobby to startup arguments in StartServer.sh (Linux) or
StartServer.bat (Windows), then restart. Without it, Xbox clients never see the server in
Community Servers.
If Allowed platforms is set to Steam only, Xbox players cannot join. Switch it back to Crossplay (or Xbox) and restart.
The same control lives in Settings → Game Settings. See Configure server settings.

Frequently asked questions
Can Steam and Xbox players join the same Palworld server?
Yes. Palworld 1.0 crossplay lets Steam, Xbox, PS5, and Mac join the same dedicated server. Xbox and PlayStation players search Community Servers by name; Steam players can also join with the IP address. berrybyte defaults Allowed platforms to Crossplay.
Where is the CrossplayPlatforms setting in a Palworld server?
In PalWorldSettings.ini, inside the OptionSettings line, as CrossplayPlatforms=(Steam,Xbox,PS5,Mac). On berrybyte the same control is Settings → Game Settings → Allowed platforms. The file lives at Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/ on Linux, or Pal/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/ on Windows.
Do I need to add the -publiclobby launch argument myself?
Only if you're self-hosting. Add -publiclobby to StartServer.sh or StartServer.bat so the server shows up in Community Servers. berrybyte already includes -publiclobby on every Palworld server.
Why can't Xbox players connect to my Palworld server with its IP address?
Xbox and Microsoft Store Palworld join through the in-game Community Servers list, not by typing an IP. That list only includes servers running with -publiclobby. berrybyte already adds that argument.
