How to host a Cobblemon server

Create a Cobblemon Official Modpack Fabric server, join with the matching client profile, update safely, and fix loader, version, and memory problems.

Use the Cobblemon server hosting page. It opens with the official Fabric pack, matching Minecraft version, and starting RAM already selected.

Cobblemon Official Modpack [Fabric] and Cobblemon Official Modpack [NeoForge] are separate projects. This guide and landing page use Fabric. Cobblemon is also not Pixelmon; use the Pixelmon guide if that is the pack your group wants.

Create the Cobblemon server

Open the Cobblemon hosting page

Go to Cobblemon server hosting. Check that the pack name ends in [Fabric].

Choose the starting plan

Use the RAM shown in the server details for a small group. Choose a location close to most players.

Complete checkout

Keep the pack attached. berrybyte selects the Fabric loader and compatible Java runtime.

Wait for startup

Watch Console until the world is ready before joining. Do not upload a client instance over the generated server.

Install Cobblemon on each client

Choose the Fabric project

Install Cobblemon Official Modpack [Fabric] in CurseForge or another compatible launcher.

Match the release

Select the exact version shown on the server. Updating only the Cobblemon mod or Fabric API can create a mismatch.

Launch the profile

Wait for the Minecraft menu, then open Multiplayer.

The current release does not expose a separately labelled server ZIP in its marketplace listing. berrybyte installs the server-compatible contents. That is different from uploading the ordinary client folder.

Join the Cobblemon server

Copy Overview → Server address and add it in Multiplayer from the Fabric profile. Include the port.

If a player sees a loader error, ask which project they installed before changing the server. The NeoForge logo or profile name is enough to explain the mismatch.

Update the pack and Pokemon data safely

Back up the full server

Create a backup that includes the world, configs, and Cobblemon data.

Stop the server

Wait for the final save to finish.

Update the complete Fabric pack

Use Overview → Modpack → Change. Avoid piecemeal mod updates.

Match every player

Move each launcher profile to the same release before restarting.

Fix common Cobblemon server problems

Fabric and NeoForge were mixed. Reinstall the Fabric pack named in the server details. Changing only the loader is not enough because the two editions contain different files.

The client reports incompatible mods. Compare the whole pack release. Undo manual dependency updates and test the unmodified profile first.

A player can connect but lacks expected client features. The publisher says the full pack can connect to a compatible Cobblemon server, but client menus, maps, and visual features still come from the profile. Use the complete pack for a consistent group setup.

The server runs out of memory during exploration. Move to the extra RAM option shown above and retest before removing world data.

Still stuck? Open a support ticket with the server log and the exact launcher profile name.

Frequently asked questions

How much RAM does a Cobblemon server need?

Use the starting RAM in the server details below. It is the first berrybyte plan above the pack creator's recommendation.

Does this page use Fabric or NeoForge Cobblemon?

Fabric. Cobblemon Official Modpack has separate Fabric and NeoForge projects. Every player must use the Fabric project selected by this page.

Do players need the full Cobblemon modpack?

Use the full matching profile for the simplest setup. The publisher says the pack can connect to compatible Cobblemon and Fabric API servers, but added server mods can change that.

Why does Cobblemon say the mod list is incompatible?

The player usually installed the NeoForge edition, another release, or manually updated one dependency. Match the server's complete Fabric profile first.

Should I back up before updating Cobblemon?

Yes. Back up the world and Pokemon data, stop the server, and update every player to the same complete release.
