How to host a StoneBlock 4 server
Set up an FTB StoneBlock 4 server, play multiplayer with friends on the same release from the FTB App or CurseForge, and fix version and memory problems.
Use the StoneBlock 4 server hosting page. It opens with FTB StoneBlock 4, NeoForge, Minecraft 1.21.1, and the starting RAM already selected.

Create the StoneBlock 4 server
Open the StoneBlock 4 page
Go to StoneBlock 4 server hosting. Check that the pack is FTB StoneBlock 4, not StoneBlock 3.
Choose a plan and location
Start with the RAM shown in the server details. Pick the region closest to most of your friends.
Finish checkout
Keep the pack attached. berrybyte installs the StoneBlock 4 server files from FTB, along with NeoForge and Java 21.
Wait for the first start
Open Console and wait until startup finishes. StoneBlock 4 has over 400 mods, so the first start takes several minutes.
FTB says StoneBlock 4 needs command blocks turned on, or some structures won't work. After the
first start, open server.properties under Files and check that it says
enable-command-block=true. If it says false, change it and restart.
Install StoneBlock 4 on each computer
Install the pack
In the FTB App, search for FTB StoneBlock 4 and install it. It is also on CurseForge under the same name. See the StoneBlock 4 page for release notes.
Match the server's release
Pick the exact release shown in the server details. FTB and CurseForge use the same release numbers for this pack.
Give the game enough memory
StoneBlock 4 is a large pack. Give the game at least 6 GB in the launcher's settings, and 8 GB if your computer has room.
Join and play together
When Console shows the server is ready, open Overview and copy Server address. In the StoneBlock 4 profile, open Multiplayer, add the server, and paste the address. Include the port.
Everyone shares one world. StoneBlock 4 includes FTB Teams and FTB Quests, so friends who team up can share quest progress. It also includes FTB Chunks, which lets players claim chunks so others can't break their builds.
Update StoneBlock 4 safely
Create a backup
Open Backups and save a restore point before you change anything.
Stop the server
Wait for the world to finish saving.
Change the whole pack
Use Overview → Modpack → Change and pick the new StoneBlock 4 release. Don't swap single mods by hand.
Update every player
Move each launcher profile to the same release, then start the server.
See Minecraft backups before your first update.
Fix common StoneBlock 4 problems
Vaults or other structures don't work. Command blocks are probably off. Set
enable-command-block=true in server.properties and restart.
A player can't join after an update. Their launcher may have moved to a newer release than the server, or the other way around. Match the release shown in the server details.
The game crashes on the player's computer. Raise that player's memory to at least 6 GB in their launcher. The server's RAM doesn't help a client that is out of memory.
The server lags once bases grow. Big automated builds add load over time. Move up to 12 GB before you remove mods.

Frequently asked questions
How do you play StoneBlock 4 multiplayer?
Put the world on a server that runs StoneBlock 4. Everyone installs the same StoneBlock 4 release, adds the server address in Multiplayer, and joins. Open to LAN only works while the host is playing.
Where do I get the FTB StoneBlock 4 server files?
On berrybyte you don't need them. FTB publishes server files for each release, and berrybyte installs them for you. To host it yourself, download the server installer from the Versions tab of the StoneBlock 4 page at feed-the-beast.com.
How much RAM does a StoneBlock 4 server need?
FTB lists 6 GB as the minimum and 8 GB as recommended. Start at 8 GB and move up once several players run big automated bases.
What Minecraft version is StoneBlock 4?
StoneBlock 4 runs on Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge. The server details on this page show the exact release we install.
Can StoneBlock 3 players join a StoneBlock 4 server?
No. StoneBlock 3 is a different pack on an older Minecraft version. Every player needs StoneBlock 4 at the same release as the server.
