How to host a COBBLEVERSE server
Start a COBBLEVERSE server for friends, keep every player on the same release, follow the pack's public-server rules, and fix version and memory problems.
Use the COBBLEVERSE server hosting page. It opens with COBBLEVERSE, Fabric, Minecraft 1.21.1, and the starting RAM already selected.

| Release status | COBBLEVERSE is a separate Cobblemon adventure pack. It is not Cobblemon Official Modpack, and the two cannot join each other's servers. |
COBBLEVERSE is not the Cobblemon Official Modpack, so a player with one can't join a server running the other. For the official pack, use the Cobblemon guide.
Create the COBBLEVERSE server
Open the COBBLEVERSE page
Go to COBBLEVERSE server hosting. Check that the pack name is COBBLEVERSE - Pokemon Adventure.
Choose a plan and location
Start with the RAM shown in the server details. Pick the region closest to most of your friends.
Finish checkout
Keep the pack attached. berrybyte installs the COBBLEVERSE release shown above and Fabric.
Wait for the first start
Open Console and wait until startup finishes. COBBLEVERSE has well over 100 mods, so the first start takes a few minutes.
Install COBBLEVERSE on each computer
Install the pack
In the Modrinth App, search for COBBLEVERSE and install it. The pack's terms say to install it only from Modrinth. Other copies, like the CurseForge edition, are a different build.
Match the server's version
Pick the exact release shown in the server details. A newer or older COBBLEVERSE release can fail to join.
Give the game enough memory
The pack creator asks for at least 4 GB for the game itself, and 6 GB or more works best. In the Modrinth App, set this under Settings → Default instance options → Memory allocated.
Join the server
When Console shows the server is ready, open Overview and copy Server address. In the COBBLEVERSE profile, open Multiplayer, add the server, and paste the address. Include the port.
The pack's server rules
A private server for friends and family is fine. The pack creator has a few rules for every server:
- Don't name or advertise your server as a "COBBLEVERSE Server". You can say it is "COBBLEVERSE Compatible".
- On a public server that sells ranks, perks, or items, don't use the pack's custom structures, trainers, or datapacks.
- Public servers must follow the license of every mod in the pack.
Read the full rules on the Modrinth page before you open a server to the public.
Update COBBLEVERSE safely
Create a backup
Open Backups and save a restore point. It keeps your world and Pokémon data.
Stop the server
Wait for the world to finish saving.
Change the whole pack
Use Overview → Modpack → Change and pick the new COBBLEVERSE release. Don't update Cobblemon or other single mods by hand.
Update every player
Move each launcher profile to the same release, then start the server.
See Minecraft backups before your first update.
Fix common COBBLEVERSE problems
A player sees a mod mismatch. They usually installed the Cobblemon Official Modpack or another COBBLEVERSE release. Check the profile name and version before you change the server.
The game crashes or freezes on the player's computer. Raise that player's memory to at least 4 GB in their launcher. The server's RAM doesn't help a client that is out of memory.
The server lags as more friends explore. Wild Pokémon and new chunks add load. Move up to 8 GB before you remove mods.
