How to host an RLCraft server
Create an official RLCraft 2.9.3 server on Minecraft 1.12.2, keep Java 8 and command blocks enabled, and avoid unofficial remakes, VanillaFix, and old OptiFine.

This is the official 1.12.2 pack. Unofficial remakes on newer Minecraft versions cannot join this server. RLCraft also needs Java 8 and command blocks enabled.

Open the RLCraft page
Go to RLCraft server hosting. Confirm the version is 2.9.3 for Minecraft 1.12.2.
Choose a location and plan
Start with the RAM shown in the server details. Pick the region closest to most players.
Finish checkout

Wait for first boot
Watch Console until startup finishes. The first install is large and slower than a modern vanilla server.
The pack author requires enable-command-block=true in server.properties. Without it, some

The official pack has not had a new release since June 2023. If a listing looks newer, it is usually a different project.
Keep client extras conservative
The pack author warns against VanillaFix and BetterFPS. If you use OptiFine, use 1.12.2 HD U G5, not the older E3 build.
Join
When Console shows the server is ready, open Overview, copy Server address, and add it from the RLCraft 2.9.3 profile. Include the port.
Dying often in the first hour is normal for this pack. That is the gameplay, not a sign the server failed to start.
Update or change RLCraft safely
Official RLCraft rarely needs a version update. If you change configs or add mods, treat it like an update anyway.

Fix common RLCraft server problems
Java 17 or 21 was forced on. Forge 1.12.2 does not run on modern Java. Leave the berrybyte Java 8 runtime in place.
Villages or structures are incomplete. Check server.properties for
enable-command-block=true before resetting the world.
A player added VanillaFix, BetterFPS, or OptiFine E3. Remove those extras and, if they want OptiFine, switch to HD U G5.
Someone installed an unofficial remake. Reinstall official RLCraft 2.9.3. A 1.16 or 1.20 remake cannot join this server.
The server lags after more players explore. Lycanites and Ice and Fire entities add load. Move to the extra RAM option shown above before deleting world data.
